Exportunity was founded in 2012 by Vital Souvouvou with the objective of promoting trade and investment in Africa. The company started as an events management firm, organizing trade promotion events in several countries worldwide thus built a strong reputation and a vast network in the industry.

In 2015, Exportunity expanded its operations with the launch of its innovative e-commerce marketplace provided small African businesses a platform to sell their products to a broader customer base and receive secure payments. With a network of over 2000 delivery points in West Africa, the platform allowed over 20000 small businesses to grow and thrive.

In 2017, Exportunity launched the XportCARD, a brand of prepaid VISA cards in Benin. Backed by the United Bank for Africa, the XportCARD made it possible for small and medium-sized businesses to send and receive international payments. Since its launch, the XportCARD has processed over 80 million USD of cumulated transaction volume, with over 6300 active users.

The company remained committed to its customers' needs and strategically replaced its Amazon-type business model with a new platform built on African trade practices. This resulted in the rayOn platform, built based on customer recommendations and market learnings. The rayOn platform is a revolutionary platform that serves as a one-stop-shop for small businesses seeking to grow and expand their reach. It offers a seamless experience, from inventory management to secure payments, all in one place.

Exportunity is a testament to the resilience and innovation of African entrepreneurs. Through their various products and services, they have contributed significantly to promoting trade and investment in Africa and empowering small businesses to reach their full potential.
